We’re currently seeking a Video Editor with a strong grasp of North American slang, humor, and the nuances of cannabis culture. The ideal candidate is fluent in American internet culture, has a sharp comedic sense, and can caption slang-heavy dialogue accurately and creatively. Attention to detail and timing is everything — especially when it comes to comedic pacing and error-free captions.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit short and long-form video content for social media and digital platforms (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram).
- Accurately caption videos, ensuring slang and colloquialisms are spelled correctly and remain culturally relevant.
- Collaborate with creative directors to capture the tone, style, and comedic pacing of each piece.
- Add motion graphics, transitions, and audio enhancements as needed.
- Maintain quick turnaround times without sacrificing quality.
Qualifications
- English fluency at C1 or C2 level
- Proven experience editing comedic video content (portfolio required).
- Deep understanding of North American humor, cannabis culture, and internet trends.
- Excellent spelling and grammar, especially when captioning slang and jokes.
- Strong skills in Adobe Premiere Pro (or equivalent editing software).
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
- Bonus: Experience with meme-style content, punchy cold opens, or TikTok/Reels trends.
